Mātauranga Māori: Clive Aspin and Māori Health Research

Maunuhanga and the Malaghan Institute’s seminar series continues Wednesday, August 27th at 3 pm in HMLT103, with Associate Professor Clive Aspin speaking on Māori Health Research.

Clive Aspin (Ngāti Maru, Ngāti Whanaunga and Ngāti Tamaterā) is the Chair of Te Urungi, the Māori Advisory Group of the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research and is an Associate Professor in Te Pukenga Wai at Te Herenga Waka. His research interests include rangatahi suicide, sexual diversity, HIV and the role of honourable kawanatanga in preparing Aotearoa for a Tiriti-based future.

Drawing on national and international research collaborations, he will discuss the role of research in contributing to enhanced health and social outcomes for Māori.
