Wellington Research Institutes Tour

At Maunuhanga, our aim is to bring postdocs and early career researchers (ECRs) from across Wellington together to build meaningful connections. This week, we took a big step towards that with our first-ever Wellington Institute Tour.

Organised by committee member Dr Jochem Vink, the tour took our members to three of Wellington's leading research institutes:

🔬 Te Kauru/Ferrier Institute
🔬 Robinson Research Institute
🔬 Gillies McIndoe Research Institute

At each stop, our members had the chance to hear talks on the exciting research taking place, ranging from lung cancer models, methane-inhibiting microbes and superconducting space magnets, tour the facilities, and connect with fellow ECRs working in the region.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, and to all the researchers who so generously gave their time to share their work with our group. Events like this are exactly what Maunuhanga is about — breaking down the walls between institutes and building a stronger, more connected ECR community across Wellington.
